Applique dress by Frugi

Organic Cotton Dress With Appliqué Design – £13 (on sale)

An easy fitting dress for little girls due to its A-line design and elasticated neck and sleeves and made from soft, comfy jersey cotton that little ones will love to wear. The bright colours and appliqué design are really appealing without being over-the-top girly, plus it can be paired with leggings for a practical day-to-day outfit. Parents find that this dress keeps its softness even after washing and the extra strong seams mean that it will last through lots of wear and can be handed down to other children.

Frugi is based in the UK, and all of their products are made using organic cotton that has been certified by organisations that also require manufacturers to work in a safe environment with guaranteed minimum wages and no child labour. They ship internationally.

Environmentally-Friendly-(large)All Frugi clothes are GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) and Soil Association certified. Farming organic cotton supports sustainable agriculture and doesn’t use poisonous pesticides, so it’s better for the planet.

Fairly Traded

Fairly traded-(large)GOTS and the Soil Association both require that manufacturers also meet a minimum set of social as well as environmental criteria, but Frugi also make sure that all of the factories used in their supply chain have the SA8000 certification (which means that they are an Ethically Correct Certified Company). This certification goes further than the requirements for GOTS and Soil Association certification, meaning that they can be sure that the basic human rights of workers as laid out by UN are protected – they don’t use child labour, all workers have rights, work in safe environment, and are guaranteed minimum wages. On top of this, manufacturers must commit to supplying all workers and their families with health insurance.
