Beans and Pulses by Hodmedod’s

British-Grown Beans, Pulses, and Quinoa – from £1.19

Hodmedod’s was founded in 2012 to supply beans and other products from British farms. They work with British farms to source all of their products, and are particularly interested in searching out less well-known foods, like the fava bean – grown in Britain since the Iron Age but now almost forgotten – and black badger peas. Fava beans are delicious, nutritious and good for the soil and bees. Split fava beans are especially versatile and easy to cook as they don’t need soaking. They also sell British-grown quinoa from the plains of Essex, and a selection of Soil Association certified organic pulses.

Environmentally-Friendly-(large)By encouraging Brits to shop more locally instead of importing beans, pulses, and quinoa from abroad, Hodmedod’s are cutting down on carbon emissions as well as supporting seasonal and organic crop growth.
