Disposable Nappies by Naty

Biodegradable Disposable Nappies – from £4

These naturally breathable chlorine and fragrance-free nappies are made from natural and renewable materials such as GM free corn based film rather than plastic. They have been well and truly tested by A Better Place’s own Founder, who has used Naty nappies almost exclusively for her own daughter from newborn through to toddlerhood. They compare well to major name-brand non-eco nappies both in terms of absorbency and price, and because they are biodegradable, they are a good disposable alternative to reusable cloth nappies for eco-conscious parents.

Naty is a Swedish company producing high-performing environmentally-friendly baby care products. They have won many awards over the years, including the Good Environmental Choice Eco Label from the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation. Naty’s products are easily available in the UK at various online retailers as well as instore at Boots. They are also available at select retailers in the USA (click below to see a full list), but at a higher price because they’ve been imported.

Environmentally-Friendly-(large)Traditional nappies are made from oil-derived plastic, and given that the average baby creates about half a ton of dirty nappies a year, that’s a lot of plastic being thrown into landfill. In contrast, Naty’s nappies use biodegradable natural and renewable materials.

Naty has always worked closely with The Swedish Society for Nature Conservation, ensuring that their business as well as their raw material suppliers have been independently tested and successfully complied with a number of strict conditions regarding the environmental impact of their products.

The wood used for pulp is derived from sustainable forestry; where more trees are planted than felled. They do not use chemicals during production, and their production, distribution, and packaging focuses on reducing waste and use of fuel.
