Green
Komodo’s London office is independently certified as Carbon Neutral. For each collection they release, they provide reports about which fabrics they are using; all of their cotton is GOTS certified organic, and they use eco fabrics such as tencel and rayon (which is made from sustainably sourced tree fibre), as well as recycled and natural fibres.
Fairly Traded
Komodo produce their garments in medium-sized family-run factories in Kathmandu, Bali, and Nepal, many of which they have been working with since the brand was founded. They spend at least two months with each of the factories that they work with throughout the year, problem solving and growing together. They say that job satisfaction is high and people are treated with respect, given safe conditions in which to work, and fair wages. Most of the factories they work with have are SA8000 certified, or have been independently audited by organisations like GOTS. According to their code of conduct, all of their producers must be paid a living wage.
