Krochet Kids is an American non-profit that strives for radical transparency, fitting every product sold with a hand-signed label by the person who made the item. They work with highly vulnerable women living in poverty-stricken parts of the world to empower them with the skills and resources to rise above poverty and transform their communities. They are committed to measuring the impact and results of their empowerment program on a monthly basis in both Uganda and Peru where their products are made, so that they can be certain their social impact is consistently positive, and always on the increase.

What’s more, Krochet Kids families are up to five times more likely to have access to healthcare, women are up to 40% less likely to suffer physical abuse, and women are up to 25% more likely to participate in major family decisions. Krochet Kids also say that the children of the women they employ are up to eight times more likely to attend high school, significantly increasing the opportunities of the next generation.

Every purchase furthers their impact by facilitating ethical economic growth as well as providing women in developing countries with education, training, and mentorship to create a sustainable career for the future.

Krochet Kids work with over 150 women in Northern Uganda for a guaranteed minimum of three years, ensuring that they are provided with the highest quality training and mentorship in personal budgeting, savings, loaning, and business management topics. Their goal is to equip women with the financial assets and knowledge to enter into the local economy and thereby end their dependence on humanitarian aid.

In Peru, they are currently working with 38 women to help lift them and their families out of poverty. Their on-the-ground staff conduct home visits to assess the needs of the individual and the family, before providing a job complete with holistic education and mentorship to help them develop independence and freedom.
