Slim Chino Trousers – $65

Everlane searched long and hard to find people who could help them make the perfect pair of trousers; this pair was made at a specialised factory in Dongguan, China, from breathable 98% cotton and 2% elastane with a slight stretch for extra comfort and movement. They are slim fitting, and Everlane provide photographs of how the trousers look from several angles on several different builds.

Everlane offer a great range of minimalistic, well-fitting, and great quality modern wardrobe basics for men and women, and are committed to a model of radical transparency. Every product on their website details exactly where the item was made and how it was priced, breaking down the cost by the price of the materials, labour, transportation, other overheads, and markup. Unfortunately for Brits, Everlane do not currently ship to the UK.

Fairly Traded

Fairly TradedEverlane’s super easy-to-navigate user-friendly website gives you all the information you need about where each item of clothing was made and how much was paid for it, so you can rest assured that the clothing you buy was produced under safe and dignified working conditions by people who are being paid a decent wage for their work. This shirt was made in a factory in Hangzhou, China, and you can read a detailed description of the premises, the owner, and how Everlane came across it on their website.
Everlane are very clearly committed to the well-being of the people who make their clothing, and the level of detail which they go into about the factories and suppliers they use is totally revolutionary for an industry where lack of information and transparency is basically a trademark.

Gives Back

Gives BackEverlane donate 35% of their gross revenue on all Black Friday sales annually to their Black Friday Fund. They then use this money to improve workers’ recreational time; when they asked how they could improve the lives of their workers in their factory in Hangzhou, China, the workers requested a basketball court and outdoor recreation area, which Everlane are currently working on.
