Hand Assembled American-Made Watch – $600

The 'Runwell' is the classic Shinola wrist watch; hand-assembled and American-made, it is a thing of beauty. Rose gold case plating perfectly sets off the midnight blue watch face, and the strap is made from dark oxblood premium leather.

Shinola is dedicated to reviving industry in Detroit, one of America’s historic centres of trade and manufacturing that has suffered economically with high rates of unemployment for a generation or more. Shinola is “reclaiming the making of things that are made well”, reclaiming American-made products, reviving lost skills and the local economy by creating new jobs and training employees in skilled work.

Their watches are made in a state-of-the-art watch factory inside the College for Creative Studies which is housed in the historic Argonaut building. Production combines hand-assembly with advanced technology to ensure that all the watches are of the highest quality and built to last. The entire team was trained by an expert Swiss watch-making partner, and these skilled craftspeople are now some of the few remaining USA watch makers in the country.

HandmadeEach watch is hand built one at a time in Shinola’s state-of-the-art workshop in Detroit. They are hand crafted to last a generation or longer.
